This firewood is intended to be seasoned over the coming months and, with correct storage and good airflow, should be ready for Winter 2027. Seasoning times can vary depending on storage conditions.

Gum is a dense, slow-burning hardwood that produces exceptional heat. While it takes longer to ignite than softwoods, once established it burns for longer and delivers an excellent heat output.

For best results, start your fire with a softwood such as pine before adding the gum. Gum also produces a long-lasting bed of hot embers, making it an excellent choice for those freezing East Coast winter nights when the southerlies arrive.

Our firewood is seasoned and stored outside. We split to order; this will produce moisture content purely due to the nature of wood.
We recommend leaving your firewood outside in the sunlight, during the summer months to finish the drying process. While its okay to cover from a heavy down pour, we advise not to keep covered with a tarp consistently as your firewood will sweat and go mouldy.
If you have ordered a load of slow-burning gum it is advised to stack this outside for a few weeks before moving it to a covered location. Along fence lines and in a sunny area is preferred.
Hot Tip : Rain can speed up the drying process for Hardwoods such as Gum/ Macrocarpa Rain will not hurt your firewood, as long as you have the time to let it dry out in summer.
