Gum is dense and hot burning. It takes longer to ignite but once going, it burns longer with very-high heat output. We recommend starting your fire with softwood such as pine before adding the gum. Gum produces a bed of hot embers which can continue burning throughout the night. Really good for the middle of winter on those freezing east coast nights when the southerlies are around.

We offer a standard cut size 300mm length x 150-200mm width. We can offer custom cuts on request.
Our firewood is seasoned and stored outside. We split to order; this will produce moisture content purely due to the nature of wood.

We recommend leaving your firewood outside in the sunlight, during the summer months to finish the drying process. While its okay to cover from a heavy down pour, we advise not to keep covered with a tarp consistently as your firewood will sweat and go mouldy.

If you have ordered a load of slow-burning gum it is advised to stack this outside for a few weeks before moving it to a covered location. Along fence lines and in a sunny area is preferred.

Hot Tip : Rain can speed up the drying process for Hardwoods such as Gum/ Macrocarpa Rain will not hurt your firewood, as long as you have the time to let it dry out in summer.
